About

I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate with the British Election Study at The University of Manchester.

I recently received my PhD in Sociology from New York University, where I was also a fellow at the Institute for Public Knowledge. My research sits at the intersection of political science and sociology, with a focus on the changing structure of public opinion. I use novel quantitative methods to document patterns of disagreement by partisanship and across cleavages such as class, religion, and generation in both the US and Britain. Alongside my work with the British Election Study, I am currently fielding a set of experimental designs to evaluate variation in the quantity and quality of information voters use when choosing between political candidates.
My research has been funded by the Russell Sage Foundation and has been published by Public Opinion Quarterly, the British Journal of Sociology, the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion & Parties, and Sociological Methods & Research, among other journals.
